Introduction: Heart disease is still a global health problem and the highest cause of death in Indonesia.
This study aims to analyze the influence of demographic factors and metabolic disease on heart disease.
Methode: It is quantitative research with cross-sectional design. The data came from the results of
the 2018 Basic Health Research survey. Data analysis uses logistic regression. The population was all
households in Indonesia. The sample was population aged 15 years. Results: Community characteristics
and metabolic disease factors significantly affected the P value of the Wald’s test (Sig) < 0.05. Based
on the value of Nagelkerke R Square (Pseudo R-Square), demographic factors have an influence of
3% and metabolic disease factors have an influence of 6% on heart disease. Conclusion: Community
characteristics and metabolic disease factors have a significant effect on heart disease. Therefore, it is
necessary for health workers to socialize government policies regarding guidelines for preventing heart
and blood vessel disease correctly and comprehensively.
