Abstract

Pressure ulcer have a profound impact upon the subjects lives, including physical, social and financial
status, change of body image and loss of independence and control. The incidence of pressure sore
formation is highly variable, depending on the population of patients evaluated.Pressure sores continues
to affect the practice of every medical and surgical professional are common cases of morbidity in
hospitalized persons. They lead to inconvenience to the patient and the treating doctor and it’s still
challenging for surgeon to treat and is a cause of mortality. Thus it requires multidisciplinary approach
for its management. The preventive measures need to be constantly evaluated & updated; hence this
study was carried out to analyze current status of pressure sores, their prevalence, risk factors and
management (Medical v/s Surgical) & outcome
